The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) added the decentralized platform Hyperliquid to its Investor Alert List on June 26, 2026. The regulator cited the platform's decentralized structure as the primary reason for the inclusion, noting that it operates outside of its oversight.
Hyperliquid Labs, the operator of the platform, is registered in Singapore but confirmed it does not hold a license from MAS. The regulator emphasized that the platform is not regulated in any major jurisdiction, raising concerns about the risks associated with highly leveraged perpetual futures.
MAS distinguishes between institutional perpetual futures on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and decentralized offerings like those on Hyperliquid. The regulator continues to support tokenization and institutional activity while actively seeking to mitigate risks related to retail speculation.
