Sigma has officially announced a new version of its 16-300mm F3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary lens, specifically designed for the Nikon Z mount. The manufacturer has optimized the autofocus drive and communication algorithms for Z-mount camera bodies, ensuring full support for continuous autofocus and in-camera aberration correction.

The optical construction of the lens features 20 elements in 14 groups, including one FLD fluorite-grade low-dispersion element, four SLD special low-dispersion elements, and four aspherical elements. The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of approximately 17 centimeters, which extends to 22 centimeters at the 70mm focal length, providing a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.

The device is equipped with an HLA high-speed linear motor and an OS2 optical stabilization system. The stabilization performance is rated at 6 stops for the wide-angle end and 4.5 stops for the telephoto end. According to the official Sigma international website, the lens is scheduled to go on sale in November.
