Seed Capital has successfully closed its fifth fund, securing €130 million to support startups across the Nordic region. The firm, which has operated for 20 years, is shifting its focus from Denmark to a broader Nordic strategy, with a particular emphasis on the Swedish market. Plans to establish a physical office in Sweden are currently under evaluation to maintain close proximity to founders.

The new fund targets companies from the seed stage through to Series A. Investment priorities include fintech, cybersecurity, and resilience, with a specific interest in the intersection of security and artificial intelligence. The firm has already deployed capital from Fund V into four startups: Fortiv, Moxso, Repodo, and Oplane.

The leadership team has undergone changes, with Christian Brøndum, formerly of Planday, appointed as Managing Partner. Geeta Schmidt, co-founder of Humio, has joined as a General Partner, working alongside Lars Andersen, who has participated in all five of the firm's funds. The team utilizes a hybrid model, combining former operational experience with traditional investment expertise.

Since its inception in December 2004, Seed Capital has built a portfolio that includes companies such as Trustpilot, VEO, Lunar, Templafy, and Flatpay. The firm reports that its portfolio companies have collectively raised more than $2.6 billion to date. Beyond direct funding, the firm provides operational, financial, and legal support to its partners.
