Shares of the tokenization platform Securitize increased by nearly 8% on Tuesday, reaching a price of approximately $12.60. This rally followed the company's announcement of a partnership with the South Korean technology firm LG CNS. Securitize, which went public on the New York Stock Exchange in July after merging with Cantor Equity Partners II, outperformed many other crypto-related stocks during the morning session.

The memorandum of understanding between Securitize and LG CNS focuses on developing infrastructure for tokenized assets, including funds, stocks, and stablecoins, for financial institutions in South Korea. LG CNS also introduced a new blockchain platform on Tuesday to assist banks in supporting these digital assets. The collaboration aims to explore opportunities within the broader Asia-Pacific region.

This strategic move aligns with South Korea's upcoming regulatory framework for tokenized securities, which is scheduled to take effect in February 2027. The Financial Services Commission recently proposed rules for the issuance and circulation of tokenized stocks and bonds. These regulations are expected to provide a structured environment for financial institutions to adopt tokenization technologies.

The global market for tokenized real-world assets is currently valued at approximately $40 billion, with tokenized equities accounting for roughly $3.2 billion of that total. The latter segment has seen a 10.6% growth over the past 30 days. Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo has previously noted that even limited adoption of tokenized stocks could significantly influence the broader cryptocurrency market.
