The manufacturing process of EV batteries involves chemical processing, solvent recovery, solvent transfer, vacuum drying, electrolyte filling, cell formation, cooling, and final assembly. This entire operation is supported by a complex network of piping and process equipment.

Operating conditions within a gigafactory, including chemical compatibility, flange design, bolt load, and gasket selection, directly impact the reliability of thousands of connections. These factors influence the the reliability of there the entire battery manufacturing process.

Potential failure modes in these systems include solvent leakage, vacuum loss, moisture ingress, contamination, and loss of gasket load. Such failures can lead to equipment shutdowns, increased maintenance, product contamination, and reduced production yield.

TEADIT will present a webinar as part of the Virtual Conference on EV Engineering, which will take place from September 14 to 17, 2026. The session will focus on sealing technology and its role in maintaining the reliability of battery production lines.
