Russian Standard Bank reported a significant shift in consumer payment habits during the summer of 2026. The number of transactions processed through the Faster Payments System (SBP) increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2025.

The share of SBP payments within the bank's total acquiring network reached 48% in the summer of 2026, up from 34% in the summer of 2025. This growth indicates that SBP is becoming a primary method for daily consumer transactions.

Despite the rise in transaction volume, the average ticket size for SBP payments decreased to 985 ₽ from 1 447 ₽ in the previous year. However, this figure shows a slight increase compared to the spring of 2026, when the average check was 968 ₽.

Data reveals that consumers are increasingly using SBP for smaller, frequent purchases. Popular categories for these transactions include supermarkets with an average check of 494 ₽, fast food at 664 ₽, and online marketplaces at 1 558 ₽.
