Sberbank has expanded its QR-code payment services to Cambodia and Laos, allowing customers to use the SberBank Online application for international transactions. The system integrates with local standards, specifically KHQR in Cambodia and Lao QR in Laos, with automatic currency conversion into Russian rubles.
To utilize this feature, users must have the SberBank Online application updated to version 16.10 or higher for Android, or version 17.0 or higher for iOS, released in June 2025 or later. Payments are initiated by scanning a QR code at participating merchant terminals.
The service is now available at over 4 million retail locations across Cambodia. With these additions, the total number of countries supporting Sberbank's QR-based payment system has reached 15, joining existing markets such as Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
