Sberbank has introduced a new feature for its SberBoom 2.0 smart speakers, allowing users to assign a custom wake word to their device. To initiate the setup, users must say a specific command, after which the speaker requires the chosen name to be repeated five times for registration.

The functionality is powered by a proprietary recognition model based on the GigaChat neural network. According to the company, the system is designed to isolate the custom wake word from ambient noise. The integration was made possible by the updated hardware architecture of the new speaker generation.

Andrey Belevtsev, Senior Vice President at Sberbank, stated that this is the first implementation of such neural network-based customization in the smart device market. The company plans to refine the model over time, which will eventually reduce the number of repetitions required during the setup process.

The new generation of smart speakers is currently available for purchase through the official SberDevices website. The system also allows users to select different voice profiles for the assistant to enhance the personalization of interactions.
