Saudi Arabia has officially resumed operations of its East-West pipeline, a critical infrastructure asset that allows the country to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. The facility is capable of transporting approximately 7 million barrels of oil per day.
The restoration follows a period of inactivity caused by previous attacks. Those disruptions had placed up to 4% of the global oil supply at risk. The return of the pipeline to service has helped alleviate immediate concerns regarding supply stability.
Market participants are now tracking broader geopolitical developments in the Middle East, as these factors continue to influence oil supply dynamics. Future price movements will also depend on upcoming production decisions from OPEC and shifts in global demand.
