Sapphire has released a critical vBIOS security update for its entire lineup of Radeon RX 7000 series desktop graphics cards. The patch addresses a specific security vulnerability identified in collaboration with AMD, marking a rare instance of firmware updates for modern GPUs.

The update is compatible with a wide range of models, including the RX 7600, RX 7600 XT, RX 7650 GRE, RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7900 GRE, RX 7900 XT, and RX 7900 XTX. Users must have the AMD Adrenalin Edition driver installed before initiating the firmware installation process.

To perform the update, users should download the specific tool for their GPU model from Sapphire and run it with administrator privileges. The process requires approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete and will trigger a system reboot once finished.

The official AMD Radeon Firmware Updater tool automatically detects the installed GPU and verifies if a new version is available. For the RX 7000 series, the software executes the update process twice, running in both regular and safe modes to ensure full implementation.
