SanDisk has introduced the Guardian series, a new line of memory cards engineered specifically for continuous recording in home security cameras and dash cams. The product line is built to handle the rigorous demands of constant data overwriting and operation in challenging environmental conditions like high temperatures and humidity.
The series includes two primary models: the SanDisk Dash Cam Card and the SanDisk Security Cam Card. Both models support video resolutions ranging from Full HD to 4K UHD. The dash cam variant offers a lifespan of approximately 40,000 hours of recording for the 512GB capacity version, ensuring long-term reliability for vehicle monitoring systems.
The Security Cam Card is designed for both residential and enterprise use, functioning as a local storage solution that remains operational even during network outages. It features a ruggedized design resistant to water, dust, and temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for year-round outdoor surveillance deployments.
Both cards are available in capacities ranging from 32GB to 512GB. The products have already entered retail channels, with pricing starting at $28.99 for the 32GB model. This launch marks a strategic expansion for SanDisk into the growing market for specialized surveillance and security storage hardware.
