Samsung is set to integrate USDC transfer capabilities into its Samsung Wallet application for eligible users in the United States. The company plans to roll out this functionality during the final week of October, enabling international transfers of the stablecoin to compatible crypto wallets.
The service will also allow users to send funds to bank accounts across more than 60 countries, with recipients receiving the money in their local currencies. The feature is expected to be accessible on 82 million compatible Galaxy devices throughout the US, provided that users complete a mandatory identity verification process.
Regarding the cost structure, Samsung stated that transfers to external cryptocurrency wallets will be free of charge. However, international bank transfers will be subject to fees. The underlying infrastructure for stablecoin accounts and payments will be provided by Bastion, with Coinbase acting as a sub-custodian via Coinbase Prime Vault.
