Samsung Electronics announced on October 7, 2026, that its Wallet and Pay applications will support USDC transfers on the Solana blockchain. The feature is scheduled to launch in the final week of October for eligible users in the United States.

The integration will be available on 82 million compatible Galaxy devices. Users can send USDC to external wallets or convert the stablecoin into local currency for deposit into bank accounts across more than 60 countries.

Samsung will not charge its own fees for transfers, though network or recipient-side costs may still apply. The service is restricted to US residents aged 18 or older who complete identity verification and use biometric authentication.

The infrastructure relies on Solana for blockchain processing, Bastion for the stablecoin framework, and Coinbase as the sub-custodian for asset safekeeping. While Sui is a partner, Solana is the primary chain for the launch.

This development follows a period of growth for Solana, which recorded over $5.25 trillion in stablecoin transaction volume in 2026. As of September 2026, the network's stablecoin supply reached a record $17.51 billion.
