Starting in the final week of October, Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay will enable users in the United States to transfer USDC stablecoins across borders using the Solana blockchain. The integration will be accessible on 82 million Galaxy devices at launch, featuring built-in fiat on- and off-ramps for currency conversion.
The Solana Foundation noted that Solana's infrastructure will operate in the background to simplify the process for users. While the announcement confirms the use of Solana and USDC, specific details regarding transaction costs, user key management, and the nature of the partnership with Circle remain undisclosed.
The Solana network has seen a nearly 20% year-over-year increase in stablecoin supply and processed over $5.25 trillion in stablecoin volume in 2026. Enterprises such as Visa, PayPal, and Western Union have previously utilized Solana for stablecoin operations.
Samsung previously introduced a blockchain wallet for Galaxy devices in 2019 and integrated Coinbase into Samsung Wallet for 75 million U.S. users last October. The company plans to expand this stablecoin feature to additional markets, contingent upon local regulatory requirements.
