Samsung has increased the retail prices for the majority of its Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup by at least $100 as of October 1, 2026. This adjustment follows a trend of manufacturers passing rising costs, specifically related to memory shortages, directly to consumers.

The Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and specific versions of the S26 Ultra were already priced higher at their launch earlier this year compared to the Galaxy S25 series. With this latest increase, the base model of the Galaxy S26 is now $200 more expensive than the base version of the previous year's Galaxy S25.

The S26 FE model remains the exception to this price hike, maintaining its starting price of $699. However, even this entry-level device is currently more expensive than the corresponding S25 FE model released last year.
