A Reddit user under the handle u/moomanjohnny demonstrated a new visual effect on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 on September 10. The user utilized the device's built-in hinge sensors to replicate the opening and closing perspective animation recently introduced by Apple for its iPhone Duo.
Apple's original animation creates a seamless illusion by gradually blurring and darkening the screen content as the device folds or unfolds. The enthusiast successfully mapped these transitions to the physical movement of the Samsung hardware.
The creator noted that the demonstration does not modify the core system user interface of the Samsung device. Due to restricted access rights for third-party Android applications, the current implementation relies on static screenshots to simulate the cross-screen transition effect.
