Samsung is considering a price hike for its upcoming Galaxy S27 smartphone series. According to reports from the South Korean platform Naver, the base models are expected to increase in price by at least ₩130 000, which is approximately $95. Versions with higher storage capacities may see even more significant price adjustments.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra with 256 GB of storage could potentially start at $1 400, compared to the $1 300 price tag of the previous Galaxy S26 Ultra. The top-tier configuration with 1 TB of storage, which was priced at $1 800 for the S26 Ultra, is projected to approach the $2 000 mark in the new generation.
The company attributes these potential price increases to the rising costs and shortages of semiconductor components, driven by high demand from the artificial intelligence industry. Additionally, Samsung plans to integrate new LPDDR6 memory into at least one of the premium Galaxy S27 Ultra configurations, which is currently more expensive than the existing LPDDR5X standard.
