Users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones are reporting significant charging issues following the update to One UI 9.0. Owners note that the Super Fast Charging mode now operates at a lower power output, resulting in longer charging times for their devices.
Reports of this performance degradation have surfaced across multiple platforms, including Reddit and Weibo. The issue appears to affect the Galaxy S25 series as well as several older smartphone models from the manufacturer.
Some users speculate that the company may have adjusted power management algorithms to mitigate overheating and improve battery safety. This theory emerged following reports of fire incidents involving the Galaxy S25+ model.
Samsung has not yet provided an official explanation or confirmed whether the change was intentional. The reduced charging speed could also stem from software bugs, thermal management protocols, or compatibility issues with specific cables and chargers.
