Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag3, a third-generation Bluetooth tracker. The new device is 35% smaller and 33% lighter than its predecessor, the SmartTag2. It features a squircle shape without a built-in key ring hole, requiring users to purchase a separate protective case.

The tracker is 10% more energy-efficient, powered by a CR2032 battery. It lasts up to 550 days in standard mode or 790 days in power-saving mode. For the first time in the series, the device supports both Samsung Galaxy and iOS devices.

The device utilizes Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding for the Compass View feature, which detects direction and distance up to 60 meters, tripling the range of the previous model. Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology provides increased precision as the user approaches the tag.

The tracker integrates with the Galaxy Find Network to locate items outside the direct Bluetooth range. New software features include Place Notification for geofencing, Location History for tracking routes, and Movement Detection Alert for tracking changes in position.

The Galaxy SmartTag3 will be available in white and black colors. The product launch is scheduled for October 7 in South Korea, with pricing details to be announced closer to the release date.
