Samsung has officially commenced mass production of its Exynos 2700 system-on-chip. The company plans to increase production volume by over 10% compared to the previous Exynos 2600 model to support the launch of the new Galaxy S27 Pro smartphone.
The Exynos 2700 is slated for use in the Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, and S27 Pro models in domestic and European markets. Meanwhile, versions of these devices for the US and Chinese markets will utilize the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.
The inclusion of the Exynos 2700 in the flagship Galaxy S27 Ultra remains undecided. The Samsung System LSI division is advocating for its use, while the Samsung MX smartphone division is currently evaluating benchmarks, power efficiency, and production capacity.
Internal testing indicates that the Exynos 2700 outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 by 9.5% in multi-core tasks, though the Qualcomm chip maintains a lead in single-core performance.
The chip is manufactured using Samsung’s 2nm SF2P process with Gate-All-Around architecture. Compared to the previous SF2 generation, this technology offers a 12% performance boost, 25% lower power consumption, and an 8% reduction in chip area.
The new smartphone lineup is expected to be unveiled in February or March 2027, following the standard 3-4 month cycle from the start of chip production to final product readiness.
