SALT Lending, founded in 2016, reports that its clients are increasingly using Bitcoin-backed loans for expenses such as tuition, business capital, home purchases, and debt consolidation. The company provides liquidity to borrowers without requiring them to sell their digital assets.

The lender offers fixed-rate loan terms of one, three, or five years. APRs range from 7.49% at a 30% loan-to-value ratio to 10.50% at a 70% loan-to-value ratio. The company does not perform credit checks or income verification, with funding typically provided within 24 to 48 business hours.

Since its inception, the firm has funded over $2 billion in loans. SALT states that it holds collateral in institutional custody without rehypothecation and claims a 100% collateral return rate. Currently, the company operates in 47 US states and Washington, D.C.

SALT plans to expand its licensing to California and Nevada between 2025 and 2026. However, the company notes that all reported figures, including lending volume, collateral records, and the breakdown of loan purposes, are self-reported and have not been independently verified.
