Saleen Automotive has unveiled a digital teaser for its upcoming SR Widebody project based on the S650 Ford Mustang. The rendering highlights significantly widened front and rear fenders and a large trunk-mounted wing, suggesting a focus on track-oriented aerodynamics. The company has not yet confirmed technical specifications, engine details, or a release timeline for the vehicle.

The new project will face competition from the Ford Mustang GTD, which features a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine producing 815 hp. Saleen currently offers Mustang packages like the Yellow Label with 775 hp and the Black Label with 850 hp, though it remains unclear whether the SR Widebody will be based on the Mustang GT or the Dark Horse trim.

Saleen is simultaneously seeking funding from individual investors through two separate crowdfunding campaigns. The company is offering a SAFE agreement on Wefunder with a valuation cap of approximately $45 million. Additionally, a common stock offering is available via Invown at a price of $1.50 per share, with a pre-money valuation also set just under $45 million.

Investment packages for these campaigns have ranged from $1,500 to $50,000, with the highest tier offering a 5 percent discount. Previous reports indicated that the combined total raised across both platforms reached approximately $110,000. These fundraising efforts are specifically targeting retail backers rather than institutional investors.
