SailPoint Technologies Inc. held its annual Navigate conference in Austin, Texas, focusing on the security of AI agents within enterprise environments. The company highlighted that machine identities now outnumber human ones by 109 to 1, necessitating a shift toward real-time governance and autonomous identity management.

SailPoint acquired Entro Security in June, adding approximately 1,200 discovery sources for non-human identities. The integration of Entro, which connects human and machine identities under unified policies, is currently in internal testing and is scheduled for customer release in November.

Data from Amazon Web Services indicates that tasks on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore increased 15 times during the first half of the year, with a new agent created every 4.5 seconds. SailPoint is responding to this growth by implementing just-in-time authorization and runtime enforcement to mitigate risks from overprivileged agents.

Research presented by SailPoint shows that while 80% of organizations believe their security tooling gap is moderate or smaller, only 15% can currently provision machine access in real time. The company aims to accelerate maturity, urging enterprises to govern human and machine identities simultaneously within a one-year timeframe.
