The Maextro V800, a luxury MPV developed by Huawei and JAC, is under investigation following reports of brake pedal failure. During emergency braking tests conducted by Dongchedi, three separate vehicles experienced fractures in the brake pedal bracket while braking from 100 km/h to 0 km/h.

Sensor data revealed that one vehicle's pedal snapped at a force of 1,612 N, which is close to the national safety standard requiring pedals to withstand 2,000 N for 5 seconds. The failure leads to a total loss of foot-brake functionality, forcing the car to rely on the parking gear for deceleration.

This limitation significantly impacts safety, as the stopping distance increases from approximately 38 meters to 140 meters. The vehicle's manual notes that the parking gear emergency brake is not a replacement for conventional braking systems.

The Maextro V800 is priced between ¥766 000 and ¥1 016 000. It features the Huawei Tuling Longxing platform, 800V active suspension, and the Qiankun ADS 5.0 system. Neither Maextro nor JAC Motors has released an official statement regarding these findings.
