Safe has officially launched its Safenet Aegis security network, transitioning from a six-month beta phase to full production on October 15, 2026. The network currently supports Ethereum Mainnet, Gnosis Chain, and Arbitrum, providing transaction verification services before execution.
The system utilizes independent Sentinels—OpenCover, BlockSecTeam, Candide Labs, and IntentGuard—to evaluate transactions. Validators, governed by SafeDAO, provide onchain attestations for these evaluations. Users may optionally enable the Safenet Guard to automatically block flagged transactions.
The platform introduces paid transaction checks, with fees directed to security providers. To support the transition, SafeDAO approved SEP 56, allocating approximately 7.4 million SAFE tokens for staking rewards over a 12-month period beginning October 13, 2026.
During the beta period, the network processed approximately 100,000 transactions per week and distributed 4.5 million SAFE tokens. Currently, over 72 million SAFE tokens are staked by roughly 865 participants, with existing stakes automatically migrating to the production network.
Integration into Safe Wallet is scheduled for Q4 2026. Until this update, users must manually enable the Guard feature to enforce security logic directly on their accounts. Audits for both the Guard and staking contracts have been completed.
