S&P Dow Jones Indices and the prediction market platform Kalshi have formed a partnership to create new indices based on real-world events. The collaboration, announced on October 26, 2026, aims to integrate institutional-grade standards into prediction markets.
Under the agreement, Kalshi will utilize official S&P DJI index values, such as the S&P 500, to settle its upcoming event contracts. Conversely, S&P DJI will act as the preferred index constructor, using data from Kalshi markets to develop benchmarks covering economic, political, and sports events.
While the companies have not disclosed financial terms or a firm product timeline, a potential rollout for financial contracts is suggested for the end of 2026. Kalshi, founded in 2018, is a regulated prediction market supervised by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
