Russian Railways plans to complete testing of new T-gauge open-plan carriages in 2027. Deputy General Director Ivan Kolesnikov announced the timeline at the Public Transport 2026 forum in Moscow.

The new rolling stock features increased dimensions, allowing for 10 compartments instead of nine in standard models. These carriages, including staff and compartment types, have been operating on the Red Arrow route between Moscow and Saint Petersburg since December 2025.

The updated interior includes individual climate control, wireless chargers, and extended berths. Passengers on upper bunks now have access to private tables. Additionally, the carriages are equipped with shower facilities and a luggage area that can be converted to store sports equipment.

The company is also expanding its multimodal transport services. Integrated ticketing systems are being deployed in major cities. Platforms such as ProTransport and Innovative Mobility allow users to book flights, trains, and buses through a single interface.
