The survey was conducted from late March to late May 2026 among 262 IT specialists and market participants. The research, carried out by Uveon, focused on VDI, terminal solutions, and remote access to physical workstations. The authors note that the results represent a qualitative slice of the active market rather than a quantitative assessment of the entire Russian market.

Preference for local infrastructure is most pronounced in regulated and socially significant sectors. In the financial sector, 96% of respondents indicated on-premise deployment, while 91% in the government sector and 92% in medicine indicated the same.

While the general IT market trend is toward hybrid infrastructure models combining own, private, and public clouds to increase flexibility and scalability, workplace infrastructure is evolving differently. According to Strategy Partners, customers increasingly view VDI as part of a unified secure infrastructure linked to server virtualization and information security.

The Termidesk survey also highlights specific technical requirements for VDI. User profile management was noted by 72% of participants, multi-factor authentication by 51%, and single sign-on by 45%. Other priorities include stable operation on weak channels, printing, multi-monitor support, and video conferencing systems.
