The Russian satellite constellation is expected to meet the country's internal communication needs by 2030. According to Alexey Volin, CEO of FSUE Russian Satellite Communications Company, the current user base includes over 30 million people utilizing satellite television and nearly 5 million connected devices.

Internet traffic in Russia is projected to increase by approximately 2.5 times over the next four years. A significant portion of this growth will be driven by unmanned systems and transport, which require reliable connectivity in areas where terrestrial networks are unavailable.

Global internet traffic is expected to grow by approximately four times by 2030. Streaming services remain a key factor in this expansion, with global traffic for these platforms projected to triple, while domestic traffic in Russia is anticipated to double.

While current plans for satellite constellations aim to satisfy domestic demand by 2030, further infrastructure development is required. By 2035, the capacity and capabilities of these satellite systems will need to be expanded to accommodate continued growth in data consumption.
