RusHydro is launching a new business model by offering co-location services directly at its hydroelectric power plants. The company provides infrastructure readiness and long-term maintenance, while partners invest in server and network equipment. The offer includes a zero-fee period for the first three years, followed by a pricing formula based on operating costs and a set profit margin starting from the fourth year.
The company is building a corporate data center at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP, the largest power plant in Russia, in partnership with the government of Khakassia. The project is scheduled for completion within two years and is funded through the company's investment program. The facility will support high-load tasks, including smart energy metering, water-energy forecasting algorithms, and cloud services.
RusHydro has implemented a remote monitoring system for hydraulic structures using drones and neural networks at the Sayano-Shushenskaya, Novosibirsk, and Ust-Srednekanskaya HPPs. This technology creates 3D models of facilities to detect defects. The new method has increased monitoring efficiency by 90%, reduced data processing time from 110 hours to 28 hours for one hour of footage, and cut manual labor by 76%.
The development of a secure data center network in Siberia is part of the company's strategy to transition to a unified digital ecosystem based on domestic software. This initiative aims to localize critical data and enhance the resilience of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring full control over information flows in compliance with security requirements for critical information infrastructure.
