Modders have successfully bypassed NVIDIA's restrictions to enable DLSS Multi-Frame Generation on RTX 40-series GPUs. While the company claimed the feature was hardware-dependent and exclusive to the Blackwell architecture, developers created at least three different mods to unlock this capability across various titles.

The first mod was developed by creator "dashdogy" for Cyberpunk 2077, which later evolved into a broader ReShade plugin compatible with almost any game. This solution backports Blackwell-specific frame timing instructions to Ada Lovelace GPUs, allowing for smooth frame pacing without the specialized hardware flip metering previously cited by NVIDIA.

Earlier attempts to enable this feature on older cards relied on GPU spoofing or hybrid solutions using AMD's FSR 3 or Lossless Scaling. The current native mods are more efficient as they utilize NVIDIA's own DLSS-G framework. Community developers have already released at least two updates for the mod within ten hours of recent reports.

This situation mirrors the recent rollout of DLSS 5 "Neural Rendering," which was initially presented as an RTX 50-series exclusive but was later made available for RTX 40-series cards. This reversal occurred after hackers ported the technology to older NVIDIA architectures and even AMD Radeon GPUs.
