Rostelecom has launched 5G network services in seven major Russian cities, including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Perm. This rollout marks a significant expansion of the company's digital infrastructure capabilities.
The company's mobile subscriber base has grown by 12% over the past year. Data consumption has also seen a sharp increase, with annual internet traffic volumes more than doubling over the last five years since the service launched in October 2016.
Over the past decade, Rostelecom has integrated various technologies into its mobile offerings, such as VoWiFi, VoLTE, and eSIM. The company provides these services both as standalone options and as part of bundled packages that include home internet, Wink streaming, and video surveillance.
Since 2025, the operator has implemented automated security features, including anti-phishing, spam and fraud call blocking, and protection for Gosuslugi accounts. In 2026, the company introduced specialized cybersecurity subscription plans titled 'Child Protection' and 'For Peace of Mind'.
