Rostelecom has launched 5G network access for its mobile subscribers in seven major Russian cities. The list of locations includes Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Perm.

The company's mobile service, which debuted in October 2016, has seen a 12% growth in its active subscriber base over the past year. Additionally, annual internet traffic consumption among users has more than doubled over the last five years.

Over the past decade, the operator has introduced various technologies, including VoWiFi, VoLTE, and eSIM. Since 2025, the provider has implemented automated security features, such as phishing protection, spam call blocking, and safeguards for Gosuslugi accounts.

In 2026, the company introduced specialized cybersecurity subscription plans, specifically 'Protection for a Child' and 'For Peace of Mind'. These services are available both as standalone options and as part of bundled packages that include home internet, Wink streaming, and video monitoring.
