Rostelecom has completed the installation of a smart lighting system on the road connecting Salekhard and Gornoknyazevsk. The project includes 166 LED luminaires integrated into a unified digital network, designed to enhance road safety and optimize energy consumption on this key Yamal route.

The system utilizes a domestic software platform to monitor the status of each light in real time. Data is transmitted to the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug road directorate via a secure radio channel, ensuring operational stability even in areas with poor cellular coverage.

The smart infrastructure automatically adjusts brightness based on traffic intensity, dimming lights during low-traffic periods. According to Rostelecom, this implementation reduces electricity consumption by at least 30% compared to traditional lighting systems.

The LED equipment is rated for approximately 50,000 hours of operation, which significantly reduces maintenance frequency. This modernization allows local municipalities to lower costs associated with the upkeep and repair of road lighting infrastructure.
