Roscosmos plans to integrate Elbrus processors into the control systems of new Soyuz-5 carrier rockets scheduled for production in 2027. This initiative follows the successful implementation of an eight-core Russian processor in the control system of a Soyuz-5 rocket launched in April 2026.
According to Dmitry Bakanov, CEO of the state corporation, the transition from foreign components to domestic technology involved developing both hardware and software. The implementation resulted in lower power consumption and increased data transmission speeds for the rocket systems.
The successful launch of the Soyuz-5 rocket in April served as a validation of the current development strategy. Roscosmos intends to continue applying these technological solutions in the next two vehicles slated for manufacturing in 2027.
