Shareholders of Iridium have voted to approve the company's acquisition by Rocket Lab, with 99.6% of votes cast in favor. The transaction is valued at approximately $54 per share and is expected to close in mid-2027.

Rocket Lab CFO Adam Spice stated that the company plans to pursue further acquisitions to expand its capabilities. Currently, 40-50% of the firm's space systems portfolio is derived from acquired technologies, while the remainder comes from internal research and development.

The company aims to broaden its offerings for government clients, moving beyond L-band communications. Rocket Lab intends to acquire additional technologies related to Earth observation and various sensors for scientific and national security purposes.

Adam Spice also addressed the company's recent protest against NASA's selection of Blue Origin for the Mars Telecommunications Network. He noted that such actions are common among major industry players seeking to ensure their value propositions are considered.
