XDOF is currently in late-stage negotiations for a Series B funding round, with a reported valuation of approximately $1.2 billion. The round is expected to be led by 8VC. This follows a Series A round closed just three months prior, which raised $70 million from investors including Thrive Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Lux Capital, Spark Capital, and WndrCo.

The startup's rapid growth is driven by annualized revenue approaching $50 million. Including an earlier seed round, XDOF's total funding to date is roughly $78 million. The San Mateo-based company was founded in October 2024 by Philipp Wu, Fred Shentu, and Nemo Jin, who previously developed GELLO, a low-cost teleoperation rig.

XDOF provides a data supply chain for robotics, combining teleoperation tools, human data collectors, and annotation systems. The company employs around 60 people and serves approximately 20 customers, including several unnamed frontier AI labs. Its goal is to provide the physical-world training data that AI labs lack the infrastructure to collect at scale.

As a demonstration of its capabilities, XDOF and UC Berkeley's AI Research Lab released the ABC-130K dataset, which contains over 130,000 episodes across 195 bimanual manipulation tasks. The company plans to expand its global network of human operators, consisting of teleoperators and sensor-wearing collectors.
