Roblox announced the Roblox Everywhere initiative on September 11, allowing creators to publish their games as standalone applications. These apps will be available on mobile devices, PCs, and consoles, while Roblox continues to provide the underlying technology and services.
The initiative aims to help creators reach users across various platforms. Players using these standalone apps will be able to play with those using the main Roblox client through cross-platform functionality. The company also plans to lower barriers for web-based gaming.
By the end of 2026, players will be able to access game detail pages via the Chrome browser without installing the application. Support for additional browsers is expected to follow, enabling direct access from search results, social media, and email links.
Roblox is expanding its development tools, focusing on 2D game creation and improving content discovery. New tools for mobile devices will simplify the production of short-form game content, while offline play experiences and social features are also being enhanced.
The company also introduced the Roblox Card, which connects to the Roblox wallet. Creators can use their account balances in supported scenarios, and players will receive discounts when purchasing the platform currency Robux. The card is scheduled for release in 2027.
