Robinhood is expanding its prediction markets business by routing football-related event contracts to Crypto.com. The platform operates under the Crypto.com Derivatives North America brand and the OG.com trader app, both regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
The company reported significant growth in its prediction segment, reaching 13.6 billion event contracts traded in the second quarter of this year. During the World Cup, users executed trades totaling more than 5 billion contracts.
In June, Robinhood began routing contracts to Rothera, an exchange managed through a joint venture with Susquehanna International Group. This move follows previous collaborations with firms like Kalshi, which now operate as competitors in the space.
Additionally, Crypto.com and PYMNTS launched AI Predictions Market Contracts on the OG platform in August. This two-year partnership utilizes PYMNTS Intelligence research to create tradable contracts based on AI adoption metrics across various sectors.
