Robinhood reported a significant uptick in crypto trading activity for August 2026, with total volume reaching $17.5 billion. This figure represents a 61% increase compared to the previous month, although it remains 38% lower than the volume recorded in the same period last year.

The company's monthly operating report highlights that the Bitstamp exchange, acquired by Robinhood in June 2025, contributed $10.1 billion to the total August volume. This reflects a 53% monthly growth for the exchange, despite a 30% decline on a year-on-year basis.

Trading activity directly through the Robinhood app generated $7.4 billion in August. While this segment saw a 72% increase month-on-month, it experienced a 46% drop compared to August 2025. Notably, these figures exclude any crypto volume originating from the Robinhood Chain.

In the second quarter of 2026, Robinhood reported total crypto volume of $40 billion, with Bitstamp accounting for $22 billion and the app for $18 billion. Crypto transaction revenue for that quarter fell 38% year-on-year to $100 million, down from $160 million.
