Ripple has expanded its partnership with global investment manager Brevan Howard, providing the firm with prime brokerage services through its Ripple Prime platform. This collaboration highlights the growing institutional demand for regulated, enterprise-grade solutions that bridge traditional and digital asset markets.
Ripple Prime, which focuses on cross-asset capabilities, is increasingly active in financing leveraged exchange-traded funds. The company is currently working with several ETF providers and is scaling its operations to serve hedge funds and other investment managers, competing directly with major banks in this sector.
The Ripple Prime platform was established following the $1.25 billion acquisition of prime brokerage firm Hidden Road last year. At the time of the deal, Hidden Road reported an annual clearing volume of $3 trillion and a client base exceeding 300 institutional entities.
In November, Ripple launched digital asset spot prime brokerage services for the US market. By integrating its own licenses with the infrastructure of Hidden Road, Ripple Prime now offers institutional clients access to foreign exchange, derivatives, swaps, fixed income, and digital assets.
