Ripple has updated its institutional custody platform to version 1.43, introducing support for the Canton Network. The release enables clients to hold and transfer Canton Coin, also known as Amulet, and CIP-56 tokens issued via the Digital Asset Registry.
The integration utilizes a bring-your-own-validator model, allowing institutions to connect their existing validators. Clients retain full control over their signing keys, which remain stored in their own hardware security modules or key management services.
New features include pre-approvals for incoming assets and a two-step transfer process. Transactions now feature a 24-hour signing window for approval. The system supports both on-premises and hybrid SaaS deployment environments.
Current functionality is limited to API-based access. The platform does not yet support arbitrary Canton application commands or delivery-versus-payment workflows. Ripple notes that existing custody policies apply to all Canton transactions.
