The author used the Professional Laptop Battery Analyzer (NLBA1), developed by the Romanian company NIP Embedded Systems, to restore a battery from an ASUS X200CA laptop. The device had been stored in a discharged state for approximately two years, causing the battery controller to lock the power keys.

The NLBA1 device connects to the battery via SMBus to read parameters such as voltage, temperature, and cycle counts. It can also reset protection flags in supported controller firmware, allowing the battery to resume charging. The author successfully identified the A31N1302 battery model in the software database and performed the reset procedure.

Following the software reset, the battery status changed to unlocked, and the health was estimated at approximately 64%. The author verified the charging process using the analyzer before reassembling the laptop. The battery subsequently accepted a charge from the original power adapter, confirming the restoration was successful.
