Berlin-based startup Restate has secured $20 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Singular, with additional participation from Redpoint Ventures and Capital One Ventures.
Founded in 2022 by Stephen Ewan, Igal Shilman, and Till Rohrmann, the company provides durable workflow infrastructure. Its execution engine is designed to make multi-step processes resilient to system crashes and network interruptions.
The platform has gained traction due to the rise of AI agents, which require consistent outcomes during long and unpredictable workflows. Restate has recently signed multiple six- and seven-figure customer contracts.
Restate plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering team, hire go-to-market staff, and grow its presence in the San Francisco Bay Area to better serve its client base.
The company currently serves Fortune 500 firms and platforms like Replit. Its architecture includes proprietary storage and redundancy layers, which the founders claim offer a more efficient alternative to existing solutions.
