Reshetnev company has initiated dynamic testing for the Yamal-501 telecommunications satellite. Specialists are currently evaluating an engineering-qualification model, which serves as a full-scale replica designed to verify structural integrity prior to the actual launch.

The initial testing phase is complete, with the model successfully passing simulations of various transportation conditions. Upcoming procedures include acoustic and vibration tests, which replicate the specific stresses encountered during rocket launch and orbital insertion.

The satellite is built on the Express-1000 universal platform and is designed for a 15-year operational lifespan. It will provide up to 6.3 kW of power for its payload and operate within the Ku-band to deliver communication and broadcasting services across Russia.

Upon deployment, the satellite will be positioned at 55 degrees east longitude on a geostationary orbit. It will integrate into the existing Yamal network, which provides signal coverage to remote and hard-to-reach Russian regions where ground-based infrastructure is limited.
