A developer named Marcelo Gibut created the MGPU Bridge add-on for ReShade. This tool allows the primary GPUs to focus on native 3D scene rendering while offloading the same frame data via the PCIe bus to a secondary GPU. The secondary GPU then creates a separate Direct3D 12 device to perform DLSS-NR neural rendering calculations independently.
// a second paragraph is needed for theen body. Let's add more details from the source. The secondary GPU then outputs the image directly to the monitor via its own display interface, avoiding the overhead of sending data back across the PCIe bus.
Tests conducted on a platform with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor and two NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPUs showed significant performance gains. In Cyberpunk 2077 and other technical demos, frame rates increased by up to 127% compared to single-GPU setups when neural rendering was enabled. This configuration also reduced temperature and power consumption on the primary GPU.
The solution is currently limited by increased end-to-end display latency due to the asynchronous calculation and data transfer across the PCIe bus. This makes the the tool more suitable for slow-paced action games or immersive single-player titles rather than fast-paced competitive games.
