Renault has introduced the Twingobay, a panoramic glass roof designed for its entry-level electric city car. The oval-shaped panel covers 0.7 square meters and features a graphic alphabet pattern on its interior side. Unlike previous generations that utilized sliding fabric roofs, this fixed glass component does not open to let in fresh air.

The manufacturer claims the multilayer glass blocks 99.9 percent of UV radiation and most infrared rays, eliminating the need for a traditional sunshade. This design choice aims to enhance cabin brightness and create a sense of increased interior space within the compact vehicle, which offers 360 liters of cargo capacity.

The Twingo will be showcased with the Twingobay roof at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, starting October 12. Orders for the European market will open on October 13, with the option priced between €550 and €600 depending on the specific country.
