Renault Group and EDF are launching a bidirectional charging service in France, scheduled for release next summer. The package targets private customers and includes an electric vehicle, a wallbox, and intelligent energy management software.
The offering will be available through Renault’s dealer network. IZI by EDF will handle the installation of home charging stations, while the service aims to enable vehicle-to-grid, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-everything capabilities.
The collaboration focuses on three key areas: hardware distribution, charging process optimization, and energy storage utilization. This allows users to power household applications or return electricity to the national grid.
EDF subsidiary Dreev already provides smart charging solutions to over 100,000 customers across France and Europe. The partnership aims to leverage this expertise to improve cost management and support the energy transition.
