Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, has publicly denied allegations that it is obstructing the entry of SpaceX's Starlink into the Indian market. The company stated that it welcomes competition in the satellite communications sector, provided all participants adhere to local laws and regulations.

The controversy arose after Elon Musk questioned why Starlink has not yet received an Indian license despite five years of compliance efforts. Musk suggested that powerful local business interests might be influencing the regulatory process, referring to Ambani as the true boss of India in social media posts.

The Indian government has dismissed these claims, asserting that its regulatory framework for satellite communications is fair and non-discriminatory. Officials noted that Starlink, Reliance's Jio Satellite Communications, and Eutelsat OneWeb are currently at similar stages of the approval process, awaiting security clearances and spectrum allocation.
