The newly released Relapse jailbreak allows users to gain full read-write access to the core memory of PlayStation 5 consoles. The exploit is compatible with firmware versions ranging from 7.00 to 13.60, covering both standard models and the PS5 Pro.
The jailbreak functions by combining a browser exploit with a kernel exploit. Users can load additional payloads, such as etaHEN, via a loader that operates on port 9021. The project is hosted on GitHub and provides a script for local execution.
To initiate the process, users must set the primary DNS on their console to 45.56.67.85. Alternatively, the exploit can be accessed directly through the official Relapse website. Consoles updated within the last week are generally not supported.
The release is notable for its compatibility with recent game titles. For instance, Marvel's Wolverine requires firmware 13.40, while its 1.001.005 patch requires 13.60. This allows users to run the game while maintaining the ability to use the exploit.
